I use comments as notes-to-self ALL the time. "Edit this." "Change that later." "This wording needs to be fixed." "Haven't decided on this character's name but that's what we're going with for now." 😂 And the tabs are so helpful too. I separate them into things like random ideas, practice scenes, and notes on the plot, and I absolutely love the emoji markers haha.

I need to start highlighting more! What a wonderful idea! 😍

Love all of this! I’m gearing up to start working on my actual WIP again, but I realized I need to outline the whole thing first instead of going by memory. All of these are great!

Hey i have a question.... Could you maybe do a video explaining what the tabs are, how they work and all that? Cuz i really don't get it, i use Google Docs but since Tabs is a relatively new feature i don't know how to use it.... I feel like it would really help me with all my files/docs for stories, but i need HELP!

ALSO, when it comes to formatting a book, like say you want to print it out yourself, and bind it or something... Is Google Docs good for that? Like getting all the spacing, and chapters right, Chapter Titles, little images with the chapter names... Etc. Or is there a different app that i could use for that?

Yeah I’ll do a video!

And this is how I did it when I got my book printed: I changed the page size to 8×5, edited the margins etc. to how the company wanted me to do it, and then formatted it how I wanted. Usually you have to convert it to a pdf or something.

I used Barnes & Noble Press, and it was very self-explanatory on that front.

Google docs is what I used, but I think next time I’m going to use Word.

Ok thanks! I'll be looking forward to that. Oooh good to know, I'll look into the Barnes and Noble one as well

Agree! I love color coding and also use the different headings to organize, but hadn’t thought of using comments. Thank you for the wonderful article, Lydia! 💜

I'll have to give credit for this one to a good friend of mine. It's a really neat way to remember things though! I like to go through them when I'm not sure what I want to do, and I can pick a random thought to work on for the moment
